U.S. announces two-year exemption import duties for Solar Panel

On the 6th June, the White House announced that it would take administrative measures to promote the production of solar panels in the United States. These measures include a 24-month tariff exemption for solar panel-related products imported from Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand.  It is Not include China.

The old news mentions that in March this year, the U.S. Department of Commerce suddenly launched an "anti-tariff evasion" investigation on solar products from Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand, which also led to the almost freezing of U.S. solar panel imports. Imports of solar panels from these four Southeast Asian countries account for 80 percent of total U.S. imports and more than half of U.S. domestic solar panel supply. The sudden investigation by the U.S. Department of Commerce caused delays in the solar projects of several U.S. energy companies, and First Solar, the largest U.S. solar panel maker, slashed its installation forecast for this year and next by 46%.
